Mamunul Haque, other Islamist leaders visit Afghanistan at Taliban’s invitation
During the five-day visit, the delegation is expected to meet the Afghan chief justice, several ministers, senior scholars, and top Taliban officials

A seven-member delegation of Islamist leaders, led by Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish chief Mamunul Haque, is currently in Afghanistan at the invitation of the Taliban government.
The team reached Kabul yesterday morning, the Khelafat Majlish said in a press release today (18 September).
Other members of the delegation include Hefazat-e-Islam Nayeb-e-Amir Abdul Hamid (Pir of Madhupur), Abdul Awal, Abdul Haque, Habibullah Mahmud Qasemi, Monir Hossain Qasemi, and Mahbubur Rahman.
During the five-day visit, the delegation is expected to meet the Afghan chief justice, several ministers, senior scholars, and top Taliban officials.
According to the media release, they will also assess the situation of human and women's rights — issues that have drawn sharp international criticism.
The talks will focus on strengthening ties between scholars of both countries, expanding diplomatic relations, and exploring cooperation in trade, healthcare, and education.
The delegation is also scheduled to visit areas hit by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.
