Bank Asia appoints new DMD and CHRO
Akhteruddin Mahmood has joined Bank Asia PLC as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective September 14, 2025.
Mahmood has over 20 years of leadership experience in human resources within the banking and FMCG sectors. At BRAC Bank, he served as Head of Human Resources, leading people strategy, organisational culture, and HR transformation.
He is recognised for his expertise in organisational development, talent management, and aligning people initiatives with business goals. His people-first approach has helped build high-performing, inclusive teams.

Bank Asia said its appointment reflects its commitment to advancing its people strategy in line with business objectives and further strengthening its leadership team. Mahmood holds an executive MBA and a bachelor's degree in aviation.
