Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh commemorates july uprising

The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh today observed the first anniversary of the July 2021 mass uprising with a series of events under the banner "July Beyond Borders".
Hosted in the embassy auditorium, the programme featured a discussion session, an exhibition of photographs and posters, and a screening of a documentary recounting the uprising.
Ambassador Md Delwar Hossain presided over the event. He began by paying homage to the martyrs of the uprising and offering prayers for their souls, and expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in the recent Milestone School and College air crash, wishing a swift recovery to the injured. In his remarks at a parallel gathering titled "Remittance Warriors", the Ambassador conveyed gratitude to the Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia whose remittances keep the national economy moving. He urged the expatriate community to remain united on issues concerning Bangladesh.
The observance opened with a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs and crash victims, followed by the documentary screening. Distinguished guests from various circles, including political, social, business, cultural, and media sectors, as well as Bangladeshi students and community members, attended. Ambassador Hossain toured the adjoining photo, poster, and graffiti exhibition dedicated to the uprising, and at the close of the discussion, led prayers for the martyrs' well-being, the recovery of the injured, and the welfare of the nation.
