Bangladesh Commerce Bank holds annual business conference 2026
The Annual Business Conference 2026 of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited (BCBL) took place on 17 January 2026.
Md Ataur Rahman, chairman of the board of directors, attended as chief guest. Md Mohasin Miah, chairman of the board executive committee, and Shaikh Ashafuzzaman FCA, chairman of the board audit committee, were present as special guests.
Mohammad Ziaul Karim, deputy managing director and managing director and CEO (current charge), presided over the programme. Deputy managing director Md Zahirul Alam, branch managers, sub-branch in-charges, divisional heads of the head office, and other officials of the bank also participated.
During the conference, participants reviewed the performance of branches and sub-branches, including progress in deposits, loans and advances, profit and loss, loan recovery, import-export, and remittance as of December 2025. The programme also discussed the 2026 business plan and outlined strategies to achieve the bank's targets.
In his speech, Md Ataur Rahman emphasised the need to ensure the highest standard of customer service to achieve the bank's objectives. He urged all involved to work collectively to deliver banking services to customers' doorsteps.
Md Mohasin Miah outlined strategic directions to achieve the bank's 2026 targets, with special emphasis on deposit mobilisation and expansion of non-funded business.
Managing director and CEO Mohammad Ziaul Karim discussed key strategies to achieve business targets for 2026, including growth in deposits, loans and advances, improved profitability, recovery of classified loans, and enhancement of import-export and remittance operations.
