Bangladesh-born entrepreneur wins oxford leadership award
Bangladesh-born entrepreneur and leadership strategist, Hemi Hossain, has received the Oxford Leadership Award 2025.
The award was presented on 9 December 2025 at the Oxford Leadership Awards Ceremony held at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Hossain, who grew up in Bangladesh before moving to Australia twenty-five years ago, began his career in corporate Australia after completing a degree in Business Information Systems from RMIT University. He worked in organisations including Telstra, MYOB, and ANZ before establishing his own ventures.
He is now the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NeXgen Global Group, a multinational enterprise operating across education, recruitment, finance, technology, EdTech, and investments in Australia, Asia, and other regions.
As a global coach, keynote speaker, and author, Hossain runs a coaching platform titled Grow With Hemi, through which he has mentored thousands seeking to transition from employment to entrepreneurship. His book, Fire Your Boss, is described as outlining principles for personal and professional development.
According to the organisers, Hossain has delivered talks on mindset, digital leadership, and transformation to audiences totalling more than one million people worldwide.
He also serves on the board of Global Youth Mental Health Awareness (GYMHA) Inc, a charitable organisation that promotes youth mental health and well-being internationally.
The Oxford Leadership Award 2025 recognises his professional achievements and his engagement in leadership development and community initiatives.
