Bangladesh Bank, UCB support month-long entrepreneur training
A month-long Entrepreneur Development Training Programme was recently held in Manikganj under the "Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP)", implemented by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The training was organised by Bangladesh Bank, with support from United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB).
Nawshad Mustafa, Director (SMESPD) of Bangladesh Bank, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
Adnan Masud, Additional Managing Director of UCB, and Md Ayub Ali, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank and Deputy Programme Director, were present as special guests. Senior officials from UCB also attended the event.
A total of twenty-five aspiring entrepreneurs took part in the training, receiving comprehensive instruction on modern business management, financial planning, market analysis, digital marketing, and innovative business plan development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Guest, Nawshad Mustafa, said: "Creating skilled new entrepreneurs is crucial for accelerating Bangladesh's economic growth. Such programmes play a vital role in fostering youth employment and promoting innovation-driven business ventures."
Participants said the programme helped them strengthen their business planning skills, understand market dynamics, improve financial literacy, and build confidence to expand their ventures. They expressed optimism about using their new skills to establish sustainable businesses.
