Ashiyan Group holds Doa and Iftar programme
Ashiyan Group organised a doa and iftar programme on the grounds of Ashiyan Medical College and Hospital, seeking blessings for the country and the nation, according to a press release.
The organisers said the programme included prayers seeking divine mercy for former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, as well as prayers for national peace and wellbeing.
Invited guests included BNP leader Altaf Hossain Chowdhury; Dhaka-19 MP Dr Dewan Mohammad Salauddin Babu; Abdul Hai Shikdar, editor of Jugantor; Azam Mir Shahidul Ahsan, editor of Sangram; Ayub Bhuiyan, general secretary of the Jatiya Press Club; and M A Aziz, former secretary general of the Bangladesh Federal Journalists Union.
Speaking as chair, Md Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, chairman of Ashiyan Group, said the programme was not organised for personal publicity, but as part of an ongoing effort to support underprivileged people in the area.
He said the group provides food assistance to thousands of low-income and vulnerable families each Ramadan, adding that supporting people is both a responsibility and an act of worship. He also stated that the group wishes the country to be filled with peace and prosperity.
Also present were Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, deputy managing director of Ashiyan Group; Zahidul Islam Bhuiyan, director; and Anamika Islam Bhuiyan, chairman of Poisha Bazar. Politicians, journalists, academics, and businesspeople attended the programme.
