Akij Ibos launches 'Qurbani Run' gaming tournamen
Akij Ibos Limited, a subsidiary of the leading industrial conglomerate Akij Resource, has launched a nationwide gaming tournament, 'Qurbani Run', to engage young gamers across Bangladesh. The competition was inaugurated today at a ceremony at Akij House, Tejgaon, Dhaka.
The tournament is hosted on 'Illusion Arc', Akij Ibos's proprietary gaming platform, with the objective of advancing Bangladesh's domestic gaming industry and fostering a healthy, competitive entertainment environment for the nation's youth. Participants can register on the platform, with the tournament running until 10 June. The top 25 competitors will receive prizes including refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, and other rewards.
Addressing the event, Akij Ibos Limited CEO Zayed Bin Rashid stated, "It is essential to create positive alternatives to steer young people away from drugs, online betting, and other harmful addictions. The 'Qurbani Run' tournament and 'Illusion Arc' platform represent our commitment to this cause, with ambitions to take the initiative to an international level in the future."
Rashid further noted that the primary aim of 'Illusion Arc' is to establish a homegrown digital platform for Bangladesh's gaming community. "This initiative is designed to ensure that our youth contribute to the growth of the domestic gaming industry, rather than relying on foreign platforms. It stands as a digital CSR endeavour by Akij Resource dedicated to the younger generation," he said.
The event was attended by Akij Resource Chief People Officer Md Afsar Uddin, Chief Business Development Officer Towfique Hassan, Cluster CEO of Akij Building Solutions Limited Asadul Haque Sufyani, Head of Corporate Services Major Zahidul Hassan (Retd), lead developer of 'Qurbani Run' Jubayer Al Hasan, and other senior officials of Akij Resource.
