ADUST hosts workshop on iso 14001 environmental management

The Department of Textile Engineering at Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology (ADUST), in collaboration with AJA Bangladesh Limited, organised a workshop on "ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS)" to equip students with the essential knowledge required for sustainable industrial practices.
Abu Fattah Md Isa, trainer and lead auditor at AJA Bangladesh Limited, explained how ISO 14001:2015 EMS equips industries for environmentally responsible, sustainable operations, emphasising its practical significance for students' future roles.
Professor Dr Jahangir Alam, Vice-Chancellor of ADUST, attended the event as the chief guest. Stressing the importance of EMS training, he said: "Practical skills in environmental management are the key to addressing future challenges."
Special guest Kamaruzzaman Litu said that EMS knowledge would enhance students' professional competence, while Chief Academic Adviser Professor Dr ABM Shahidul Islam called the initiative timely and urged students to apply their learning. Registrar Md Abdul Kaiyum Sardar also spoke.
Md Nur Nabi Raj, Chairman of the Textile Engineering Department, chaired the ceremony, expressing gratitude to all and emphasising the importance of EMS knowledge for responsible industrialisation.
More than 100 students participated and received certificates that recognised their professional development. AJA Bangladesh Limited presented the guests with crests. Faculty members attended, and Lecturer Sadman Shahriar Mallik led the programme.
More than a certification event, the workshop directly prepared students for sustainability challenges, giving them practical tools to succeed in a globally competitive industrial landscape.
