BB launches e-desk system to modernise internal workflow
From 1 January next year, all actionable notes across all levels will be processed exclusively through the e-desk platform
The Bangladesh Bank has launched a new e-desk system, marking a major step forward in the central bank's digitisation journey.
The system was inaugurated today (9 December) by Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur.
With the launch, Bangladesh Bank is shifting from traditional handwritten noting to an online-based noting system.
Initially, the e-desk system will be operational only at the central bank's head office.
From 1 January next year, all actionable notes across all levels will be processed exclusively through the e-desk platform.
Arif Hossain Khan, spokesperson and executive director of Bangladesh Bank, said, "The Human Resources Development Department and the ICT Department jointly developed the system."
According to officials, from 10 December, all actionable notes up to the director level at divisional offices must also be processed through the e-desk system.
During the inauguration, the governor issued several key directives to ensure effective implementation of the new platform.
Deputy governors, executive directors and relevant directors were also present at the launch event.
