Luggage trolley hits parked Biman aircraft at Dhaka airport
The incident occurred when the aircraft, operating as BG-389, had just arrived from Bangkok and was stationed at the parking bay with no passengers onboard

A parked Boeing 737-800 aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines sustained external damage after being struck by a luggage trolley at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday evening (1 July).
The incident occurred when the aircraft, operating as BG-389, had just arrived from Bangkok and was stationed at the parking bay with no passengers onboard.
According to airport sources, the luggage trolley, locally referred to as a "khacha trolley", was positioned to offload baggage from the flight when it was suddenly propelled by strong air currents caused by the wing of a nearby Dash 8 aircraft preparing for domestic departure.
As the Dash 8 turned right, the gust from its propellers lifted the empty trolley and hurled it into the parked Boeing aircraft, causing visible damage to the aircraft's exterior.
Confirming the incident, ABM Rowshan Kabir, general manager of the Public Relations Department at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, told The Business Standard, "The trolley was not in motion; it was stationary. Due to the strong wind generated by another aircraft's propeller, the trolley moved and hit the plane. Fortunately, there were no passengers inside the aircraft at the time of impact."
He added that a team of engineers was immediately dispatched to assess the extent of the damage.
