Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has donated two intensive care unit- ventilators for the treatment of coronavirus patients at Covid-19 Hospital in Noakhali.

Abdul Hamid, superintending engineer (electrical) of Health Engineering Department under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, received the ventilators on Monday, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges. 

Initiatives have been taken to increase the number of beds in the hospital, said Obaidul Quader, also general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League.

The minister also said that the government has taken initiative to set up intensive care units and expand emergency services in every district hospital of the country including Noakhali.

Stressing importance on self-protection, Obaidul Quader said, "People are facing terrible health risks following the prescriptions circulated in various social media including Facebook."

Stating that not everyone has the same health problems, the minister requested all to seek medical advice if any symptoms of the virus appear.
