A consignment of 12 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, gifted by the neighbouring India, has arrived Dhaka today afternoon.

The vaccine doses came at a time when India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Bangladesh on a two-day official visit to attend the golden jubilee of Bangladesh Independence and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A special flight carrying the vaccine landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1.45pm today, Md Shahriar Sazzad, health officer at the airport, confirmed the arrival to The Business Standard.
