Grameenphone and FICCI donate 1,000 ICU PPE to Combined Military Hospital

Grameenphone and Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly donates 1,000 high-quality ICU Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits to selected hospitals to further support frontline medical professionals.    

On behalf of the FICCI Executive Committee, T I M Nurul Kabir, Executive Director handed over the 1,000 ICU PPE to the Brigadier General Taufiqul Hasan Siddiquee, Commandant of Combined Medical Hospital Dhaka (CMH) in the handover ceremony.

Rupali Chowdhury, President, Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Managing Director, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, said, "We believe it's our responsibility to contribute and stand beside the Government and healthcare professionals to fight the pandemic. Thus, we are extremely pleased that Grameenphone has decided to join this cause and donate protective gowns for emergency support."

Yasir Azman, CEO, Grameenphone, commented, "We are pleased to join this cause of FICCI and donate protective gowns. I must thank FICCI for bringing us together as our motherland is in dire need of our collective support. My ardent salute to the brave son of the soil for taking the hit to keep us safe. I believe in collaboration with Government, Regulator, and Industry it is possible to tackle the outbreak."

So far FICCI had provided 17,000 units of high-quality Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Marie Stopes Bangladesh, Surjer Hashi Clinic, CMH, ICDDRB Dhaka, Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital,  Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, Chattogram General Hospital Andarkilla, Chattogram Medical College, Panchlaish and Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases, Fouzdarhat to help the nation in its fight against Covid-19.

In the handover ceremony, Brigadier General Mr. Taufiqul Hasan Siddiquee, Commandant of Combined Medical Hospital Dhaka (CMH) express his thanks and gratitude to FICCI and its Members' companies and Grameenphone for this contribution of high-quality ICU PPE to CMH to support frontline medical professionals.
