Grameenphone, EBL launch EMI smartphone offer for customers
Grameenphone has partnered with Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) to launch a campaign offering customers official smartphones with interest-free instalment plans for up to 24 months.
Under the campaign, Grameenphone users with EBL credit cards can enjoy 0% EMI facilities on smartphones from leading brands, including Samsung, Xiaomi (Mi), Vivo, Oppo, and through retailer Gadget & Gear (G&G). The offer is available from August 10 to September 30, 2025.
To take advantage of this offer, eligible customers should visit a partner outlet and send an SMS to 29000 to verify their Grameenphone number. After receiving confirmation from the outlet manager, customers can immediately use their EBL credit card to purchase their chosen smartphone and select the desired instalment period, up to 24 months. Follow the instructions at the outlet to complete your purchase and start your instalment plan.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed recently at GPHouse by Munia Ghani, Head of Partnerships at Grameenphone, and Tasnim Hussain, Head of Cards at EBL.
Commenting on the partnership, Munia Ghani said: "At Grameenphone, we are driven by our purpose of empowering societies through digitalisation. This partnership is a testament to how telco and fintech collaboration can unlock access to cutting-edge technology, ensuring our customers enjoy greater freedom in owning a smartphone with long-term, interest-free instalment options."
Tasnim Hussain of EBL said, "We are pleased to collaborate with Grameenphone on this unique initiative that blends innovation, convenience, and affordability. EBL remains committed to enabling financial access and smarter banking experiences for today's connected customers."
The campaign reflects Grameenphone's broader strategy to enhance digital experiences and promote tech inclusion. By reducing the financial barrier to smartphone ownership, the initiative reinforces the role of purposeful partnerships in driving digital access across Bangladesh.
