Fewer recoveries, flattening the wrong curve
On Monday, 212 Covid-19 patients recovered from the virus – 44 fewer patients than the previous day
Bangladesh has seen the lowest number of recoveries in the last 10 days. Instead of flattening the curve of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the recovery rate in Bangladesh has been flattening.
The current recovery rate of the country is 19.21 percent as of Monday.
From the beginning, Bangladesh has maintained a meager recovery rate. The rate was only 2.01 percent till May 2.

The following day, new guidelines were added, so there was a sudden spike in the recovery rate to 11.24 percent. For a while, the recovery rate was rising.
However, in recent days the recovery rate line flattened, and today, the recovery rate has started to dip.

Currently, Bangladesh has confirmed it has 23,870 Covid-19 cases. Of them, 4,585 patients have recovered and 18,936 cases, or 79.33 percent, are active.
The country, on Monday, registered a record jump of 21 deaths in the past 24 hours, raising the number of deaths to 349.
The death rate has remained the same at 1.5 percent for the last eight days.
India's recovery rate almost double that of Bangladesh, despite more new cases
Neighboring country India recorded the second-highest number of new Covid-19 infections in Asia, but has maintained double the recovery rate of Bangladesh – which is more than 38 percent.
Despite a spike in cases, India's recovery rate has improved to 38.29 percent, from Sunday's 37.50 percent.
India, on Monday, also registered a record jump of 5,242 new cases. With this, the number of cases rose to 96,169.
A total of 36,824 coronavirus-infected patients recovered in India so far, showing single-day highest recoveries of 2,715.
Only 58.56 percent of its cases are active – while 79.33 percent of cases are active in Bangladesh.
However, 56,316 people are being treated for Covid-19 in India, which makes it the country with the highest number of active cases in Asia.
