Diplomatic Security Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has come out with a different initiative to strengthen the immune system of police personnel during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ashraful Islam, Diplomatic Security Division's deputy commissioner, inaugurated yoga classes for its staff on Sunday morning.
On the first day, 150 personnel from deputy commissioner to constable ranks joined the two hours long session.

Rajon Saha, assistant commissioner of the division, told The Business Standard that policemen are more exposed to Covid-19 infection as they directly come into contact with people while on-duty.
"We have already been provided with immune-boosting food and fruits and now this session will help us combat the invisible enemy," he added.

Shama Makhing, the yoga trainer said, physical exercise, including yoga, was much appreciated during the pandemic.

Gradually, a total of 1,200 staff members of the division will join the newly introduced yoga session.
