The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for this morning (22 July) have been postponed following the tragic Milestone plane crash yesterday (21 July).
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued an emergency press release in the early hours of today regarding the postponement.
According to the press release, Education Adviser CR Abrar confirmed the matter to the information ministry.
Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Asif Mahmud and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam also shared the update in Facebook posts.
Earlier yesterday afternoon, at least 20 people - including children and the pilot - were killed and more than 170 injured when a BAF F-7 BGI fighter jet crashed into Milestone College campus shortly after taking off from Base Bir Uttom AK Khandker.
The government has declared a one-day state mourning today (22 July) following the tragic incident.
