No buses burnt in Gulistan, Azimpur during AL’s strike, police say
The two videos are quite old and are being deliberately circulated as if they were recorded today, says DMP
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has said that no buses were burnt in the capital's Gulistan and Azimpur areas during today's strike enforced by the Awami League (AL).
A few videos regarding the burning of buses in support of the Awami League strike in Gulistan and Azimpur areas have been circulated on social media platforms and some media outlets, the DMP said in a statement today (20 July).
"In fact, the two videos are very old and somebody is purposely spreading those as today's videos. No such incident has taken place in the aforesaid areas and the law and order situation there is completely normal," it also said.

"A malicious group is trying to show its existence by publishing the old videos and pictures as an attempt to create unnecessary fear and panic in the minds of the people," it added.
Mentioning that police are put on the alert to prevent any kind of violence activities that deteriorate the law and order, the DMP called upon the city dwellers not to be misled by the false propaganda by the malicious group.
