BSMMU to start Covid-19 treatment next week

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) is set start treating Covid-19 patients from next week.
Confirming the news to The Business Standard, BSMMU Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Kanak Kanti Barua said, "The BSMMU wanted to prepare well before joining the fight."
"It is better to get on board with maximum strength when the fight is against an obscure enemy," he added.

The Cabin Block of the BSMMU has been assigned as a dedicated Covid-19 block, which has 20 intensive care unit (ICU) beds and several high-dependency units (HDUs).
There will be some 208 beds under the cabin system. Each cabin will accommodate two patients.
The dedicated block will host 10 VIP cabins as well.
All the cabins will be facilitated with central oxygen supply, although previously only the ICU and HDU cabins at the BSMMU had this central service.
The cabins will be equipped with high-flow oxygen, which will provide 15-20 litres of oxygen per minute.
