Bangladeshis in US taking Pfizer vaccine without any hesitation

Hundreds of Bangladeshi expatriates living in different states of the United States have received Pfizer vaccines since the introduction of Pfizer / Biontech coronavirus vaccine on December 14 and are taking it without any hesitation. So far, everyone is reported to be healthy.

Dr Masudul Hasan, an expatriate Bangladeshi doctor living in New York, has received the vaccine on last Thursday morning at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. The same vaccine was administered on the same morning at the Adventist Health Glendale Memorial Hospital in California. The vaccine was administered by Dr Rabi Alam, an internal medicine physician at the Provincial State Joseph Hospital. He is said to have received the vaccine on a priority basis as a frontline fighter against the virus. On the same day, Fazle Khan, a Bangladeshi living in Atlanta, Georgia, was also vaccinated.

Rekha Rozario, a Bangladeshi health worker working in a nursing home in the US state of Connecticut, Maisha Jilu and Jharna Ahmed received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on last Friday and Saturday.

When contacted, Bangladeshis receiving the vaccine said it was like a normal vaccine and they were not feeling any side effects in the two days. They called on the expatriates to get urgent vaccination and said that there is nothing to be afraid of getting vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshis from New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Georgia, Michigan, California, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Ohio, Chicago, Kansas and North Carolina have reported that they took the first dose of the vaccine.

In addition to Pfizer's vaccine, Moderna vaccination has also started in US from Sunday. More than 5 lakh people in the country have already been vaccinated against coronavirus.
