Beximco Pharma launches highly effective mosquito repellent NOMOS®

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd (Beximco Pharma), one of the largest exporters of medicines has recently launched mosquito repellent cream NOMOS®, nature inspired ingredient Ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate, commonly known as IR3535.

NOMOS® is approved by World Health Organization (WHO) and US Environment Protection Agency (EPA), says a press release.

Originally developed in Germany, the active ingredient used in NOMOS® provides 99% protection against Aedes mosquitoes that cause dengue, chikungunya and zika and single application of the product can last for 8 hours.

Unlike commonly used repellents that contain DEET and alcohol, NOMOS® is completely safe for everyone even for infants over 2 months of age.   IR3535 has been used worldwide with excellent safety record for over 30 years. The environment friendly insect repellent NOMOS® keeps away all kinds of bugs including mosquitoes, flies, horseflies, ticks, head lice, and wasps.

Dengue cases in the country, especially in the capital city, have spiked recently, and clinically proven and long acting repellents like NOMOS® can offer the right protection against Aedes mosquitoes. NOMOS® is currently available in all pharmacies and chemist shops nationwide at a retail price of Tk 120 per tube.
