Upcoming election will be the most challenging: CEC
He said the key principles for the Election Commission must be professionalism and neutrality, adding, “We must act 100% in compliance with the law”

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said that the upcoming election will be the most challenging when compared to previous elections.
Speaking during the inauguration of a two-day training programme for core trainers ahead of the national election at the Electoral Training Institute in Dhaka today (29 August), the CEC said new challenges must be addressed this time.
Alongside law-and-order and political challenges, social media-related challenges will also have to be dealt with, he added.
"Many other types of challenges will come forward. Whatever new challenges arise, we must be ready to face them."
He said the key principles for the Election Commission must be professionalism and neutrality, adding, "We must act 100% in compliance with the law."
Nasir also emphasised the importance of effective communication at the field level.
"A breakdown in communication means a breakdown in everything. Messages must be properly delivered while performing duties in the field.
"When you spend on health or education, it is actually an investment. Similarly, spending on training is a long-term investment."
Meanwhile, Election Commissioner Md Anwarul Islam Sarker said that at this moment, the Election Commission is the most challenging institution in Bangladesh.
He added that the commission's main responsibility is to organise a free and fair election.
Another election commissioner, Brig Gen (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, said, "The upcoming election will set an example in Bangladesh. Everyone must therefore carry out their duties with honesty and neutrality."
