UN Under-Secretary General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix praised Bangladesh Army's professionalism and competence during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman in the capital today (21 April).

During the courtesy call, the UN official highly praised Bangladesh's armed forces for their contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, according to a statement published on the official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Army.

Lacroix also discussed various aspects related to deployment, training, and capacity building for UN peacekeeping operations.

In addition, the under-secretary general commended the activities of Bangladesh Army personnel currently engaged in the Aid to Civil Power operations within the country.

During the meeting, the army chief reaffirmed Bangladesh Army's unwavering commitment to support current and future deployments under UN peacekeeping operations and conveyed assurance of continued cooperation.
