Traffic to southern districts smooth despite pressure at Mawa expressway toll
To manage the increased flow of motorcycles, a temporary booth has been set up along with the two designated booths for motorcycles.

As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway and Padma Bridge area remain bustling with homebound travellers making their way to their homes in the southern region.
Since the early hours today (30 March), Eid travellers were seen crossing the bridge on motorcycles, public transport, and private vehicles. Despite the increased traffic pressure at the toll plaza, there have been no reports of any long congestion.
According to Abu Saad, executive engineer of Bangladesh Bridge Authority's Padma Bridge site office, vehicular movement has been steady since morning, but there have been no traffic jams.
To manage the increased flow of motorcycles, a temporary booth has been set up for motorcycles along with the two designated booths for motorcycles. Thus, a total of nine booths are operating on the expressway to ease the pressure.

Saad also said a total of 36,924 vehicles crossed the bridge yesterday (29 March), generating around Tk4.07 crore in tolls.
Authorities have ensured all necessary measures to maintain smooth traffic flow on the bridge, he added.
