Dhaka–Mawa Expressway sees smooth traffic on final day of travels before Eid
The Dhaka–Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj, a key gateway to the southern region, remained largely congestion-free today (20 March), the final day of Eid travel.
The number of long-distance buses and motorcycles was also low. So, there was not much pressure at the toll plaza on the Mawa end of the Padma Bridge in Munshiganj and vehicles were passing smoothly.
Authorities have continued efforts to ensure smooth travels, said Abu Sayed, executive engineer at the Padma Bridge side office.
He added that toll collection is being carried out through seven booths for long-distance vehicles and three booths, including two additional ones, for motorcycles. This has helped southbound vehicles cross the toll plaza swiftly.
Officials are working in shifts around the clock to provide uninterrupted service to travellers, he added.
