Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, executive engineer of the Jamuna Bridge site office, said 48,335 vehicles of various types passed through the bridge during this time, marking the highest toll collection recorded so far during the Eid-ul-Fitr travel rush.
To manage the increased traffic, toll collection has been upgraded, with 18 booths now operating at both ends of the bridge, up from the previous six booths per side.
Pavel also added that security measures have been bolstered at the toll plazas to ensure smooth operations and the safety of travellers during this peak period.
