The second season of the Taste of Bangladesh Food Festival is set to showcase a variety of traditional and flavourful dishes from different regions of the country.

The festival will be started at Mustafa Kamal Atatürk Park in Banani, Dhaka, tomorrow (13 December) and will run until 16 December.

The Bangladesh Tourism Board and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism organised the event, which featured 62 stalls presenting diverse and traditional dishes.

AF Hassan Arif, adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, will inaugurate the four-day festival, said Bangladesh Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Abu Tahir Muhammad Zaber at a press conference at the Tourism Building of Agargaon in Dhaka today (12 December).

He said, "The festival aims to sustainably promote Bangladesh's traditional regional cuisines, raise awareness about Bangladeshi food, expand gastronomy tourism, and showcase the diversity of regional dishes to both domestic and international visitors."

This year's festival will feature iconic dishes such as Dhaka's Beauty Lassi, Lalbagh's Kacchi Biryani, Faizan-e-Madina's famous Boba Biryani, Bakarkhani, Bismillah Kabab, Cumilla's Roshmalai, Khulna's Chui Jhal, Sherpur's Chana Payesh and Tulsi Mala rice, renowned Raja Tea, Choton Mama's Fire Paan, duck curry, Chita Roti, Jamtala's Sadeq Golla from Jashore, Bogura's curd and Kheer Sa, Cox's Bazar's seafood, the bamboo chicken of the Chattogram Hill Tracts, Chattogram's Mezban, and Barishal's assortment of sweets and pithas, such as Roschushi, Dudchitai, Patishapta, Poa Pitha, Beni Pitha, Jamai Pitha, Tal Pitha, Bou Sundori, Labang Latika, Hriday Haran, Ilish Pitha, and Bhapa Puli.

Additionally, popular items like Chicken Pulao, Tehari, Borhani, Fuchka, Halim, and unique desserts like coconut pudding will be available. Specialties like Natore's Kacha Golla and Sandesh, Moulvibazar's Manipuri Hina tea and dishes, and Rajshahi's Kalai Roti and duck curry will also be featured.

Moreover, luxury hotels such as InterContinental Dhaka, Pan Pacific Sonargaon, and Sheraton, Dhaka will present Bangladeshi cuisine with a modern twist.

The festival will also include participation from the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, SME entrepreneurs, and a dedicated Gen Z Hangout corner.

Along with the wide variety of food, there will be cultural performances highlighting the traditional heritage of Bangladesh.
