Robi sees 55% growth in profit to Tk625cr in Jul-Sep
The profit rose by Tk222 crore, or 55%, compared to the same period in 2024.
Despite a slight decline in revenue, Robi Axiata PLC, Bangladesh's second-largest mobile network operator, reported a 55% growth in its consolidated net profit at Tk625 crore in the first nine months of 2025.
As per its financials, its major revenue segment, mobile services – voice, non-voice traffic, data, subscription and connection fees – decreased by Tk200 crore or 2.88% and also its interconnect services declined by Tk12.28 crore or 3% over the same time of the previous year.
As per its financial statements until September, Robi reported a revenue of Tk7,407.35 crore, which slightly declined from Tk7,594.56 crore in the January to September of 2024.
At the end of September, its earnings per share (EPS) jumped to Tk1.19, up from Tk0.77 in the same time of the previous year, its interim financial statement reads.
The board of directors of the multinational, listed on the bourse, approved the nine months financials today.
Its Q3 financials during the July to September showed, its revenue grew by 1.5% to Tk2,511 crore, and net profit to Tk242.27 crore with an EPS of Tk0.46. At the same (Q3) of 2024, its revenue was Tk2,473 crore and profit Tk183 crore with EPS of Tk0.36, its reports showed.
Its segment wise revenue showed for the nine months (Jan-Sep) that it earned Tk6,845 crore from mobile services – voice, non-voice traffic, data, subscription and connection fees, Tk393 crore from interconnect services, and Tk119 crore from other revenue – commission, IT professional services and digital services.
Commenting on the results, Robi's Managing Director and CEO, Ziad Shatara, said: Supported by a relatively better economic outlook, we had an exceptional quarter in Q2 2025, compared to Q3.
Moreover, Q3 performance faced some headwinds from the extended monsoon impacting telecom spending by our subscribers."
"Nonetheless, we are pleased with the strong momentum in our cost efficiency program, which continues to provide us with the flexibility to sustain growth. We remain confident in our trajectory going forward," he added
Robi contributed Tk1,382.7 crore to the Government Exchequer in Q3, representing 55% of total revenue. Its Capital expenditure (capex) investment reached Tk314.9 crore.
Robi said the active subscriber base grew to 5 crore 75 lakhs with an addition of one lakh new subscribers in Q3'25. Data subscribers increased by seven lakhs, reaching 4 crore 48 lakhs, while 4G subscribers rose by 11 lakhs to a total of 3 crore 96 lakhs.
By the end of Q3, 77.9% of Robi's subscribers were data users and 69% were 4G users – the highest in the industry. The network now includes approximately 18,500 4G sites, providing coverage to 98.98% of the population.
Robi continues to build a strong foundation for sustained growth and innovation, adapting effectively to dynamic market conditions and advancing its leadership in the telecom sector, it said.
In 2024, Robi made a profit of Tk703 crore and paid 15% cash dividend to its shareholders.
On Monday, Robi's shares closed at Tk29.80 each at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), which is 1.32% down from the previous trading session.
