Taking longer to calm Gopalganj situation down as police not using lethal weapons: IGP
The law enforcement is prioritising restraint and patience in handling the volatile situation, he says

The ongoing unrest in Gopalganj is taking longer to bring under control as police are refraining from using lethal force, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam said today (16 July).
"Since we are not using any lethal weapons, it is taking us a bit more time," he told reporters tonight.
The IGP emphasised that law enforcement is prioritising restraint and patience in handling the volatile situation.
He further said they are currently reinforcing the area by deploying additional personnel to bring the situation under full control.
