Summit Communications’ rejoinder and our reply
In the report, we simply stated the fact that the ACC filed a case against seven individuals, including Summit Communications Chairman Muhammad Farid Khan and former BTRC officials, over Tk10 crore in alleged tax evasion, citing ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain.

Summit Communications Limited has issued a rejoinder to a TBS report, published on 26 August, titled "ACC sues Summit Communications chairman, ex-BTRC officials over Tk10cr tax evasion," stating that it has not received any notice from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) regarding any case or investigation.
In a statement issued today (28 August), the company said, "While we have not been informed of any such investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission, we wish to clarify that the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission [BTRC] has already received the payment of Tk102,452,652 as [share transfer] fees in compliance with BTRC's letter dated 15 August 2024.
"Summit Communications Limited has always remained fully compliant with the laws of the country and has consistently abided by the instructions of its regulators, primarily BTRC.
"Accordingly, the fees referred to in your publication were duly settled immediately after Summit Communications Limited received the aforesaid notification letter from BTRC."
