Subarna Bhumi Foundation swiftly mobilised following the devastating Korail slum fire, delivering immediate humanitarian assistance to 40 affected families, including school-going children.
The relief efforts included freshly cooked meals, essential food packages, cooking utensils, crockery, clothing, blankets, and cash assistance to help families recover from the crisis. Individuals and well-wishers from both Bangladesh and abroad extended their cooperation to make this humanitarian effort possible, according to a press release issued on 25 November.
Expressing gratitude, Shamim Imam, CEO of the Subarna Bhumi Foundation, said: "Standing beside people in times of crisis is our moral responsibility. We are deeply grateful for the support, compassion, and solidarity shown by everyone."
Since 2019, the Subarna Bhumi Foundation has been operating 'Khokar Pathshala' in Gulshan, which provides quality primary education for children living in the Korail slum.
In addition to education, the Foundation continues to implement various women's empowerment initiatives, focusing on skills development, income generation, and improving the overall quality of life for women in the Korail community.
