Special prayers for Khaleda Zia after Jummah prayers
According to the letter, prayers will be offered nationwide seeking eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia’s departed soul.
Special prayers will be held in mosques across the country today after Jummah prayers for former Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The Islamic Foundation (IF) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced the programme in an official letter issued on Tuesday by its Coordination Division, signed by Director Md Mohiuddin.
According to the letter, prayers will be offered nationwide seeking eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia's departed soul.
Following her demise, the government has declared three days of state mourning. During this period, the national flag is being kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous and educational institutions, as well as public and private buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad.
The Islamic Foundation has instructed its divisional and district offices to ensure proper observance of the mourning programme and to take necessary measures to organise the special prayers in line with the directive.
