South Korean ambassador meets commerce adviser, discusses bilateral trade and investment
The meeting was held at the adviser’s office at the Secretariat, where the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral trade relations and boost investment, reads a press release.
Outgoing South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik paid a farewell call on Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin this afternoon (17 December).
During the meeting, Bashir congratulated the ambassador on the successful completion of his tenure and expressed sincere gratitude to the South Korean government for its continued support for Bangladesh.
He said relations between Bangladesh and South Korea were friendly and multidimensional, adding that since the establishment of diplomatic ties, both countries had been moving forward based on mutual trade cooperation and development.
The commerce adviser expressed optimism that bilateral relations would become more dynamic in the future through enhanced trade and investment.
Ambassador Park said South Korea-Bangladesh relations were founded on mutual trust, strong economic cooperation, and a shared vision for global peace and prosperity.
He noted that South Korean investment in Bangladesh's manufacturing and infrastructure sectors had been steadily increasing, while bilateral trade volume continued to grow significantly.
The ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh government for its overall cooperation during his tenure in the country.
Additional Secretary (Export) Md Abdur Rahim Khan, Additional Secretary (FTA) Ayesha Akter, and First Secretary of the South Korean Embassy Lee Nam-su were present at the meeting.
