Saudi expatriates to get Tk25,000 as quarantine cost
Saudi government directed all Bangladeshi workers to stay in institutionalised quarantine at their own cost to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the Gulf country.
The Bangladesh government will provide Tk25,000 to its expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia as cost of their mandatory quarantine.
Earlier, the Saudi government had directed all Bangladeshi workers to stay in institutionalised quarantine from 20 May to 30 June at their own cost to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, under Wage Honours Welfare Board, will transfer the money to the accounts of workers or their representatives.

Expatriate workers will have to download the application forms from the official websites of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry (www.probashi.gov.bd), Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (www.bmet.gov.bd), and Wage Earners' Welfare Board (www.wewb.gov.bd) to be eligible for the money.
The application forms will also be available at the desks of Expatriates' Welfare in three airports of the country.
Expatriates can submit the application form and other documents, including photocopies of immigration clearance cards provided by the Bureau of Manpower Employment and training, passport, visa, ticket and hotel booking from 7 June.
Besides, the workers who already left the country for Saudi Arabia, will also get the money by submitting the applicationby 30 June through the Embassy of Bangladesh in Riyadh, the Consulate General of Bangladesh or by post in Jeddah.
