CNG auto-rickshaw drivers call off strike in Brahmanbaria
"The police assured us that the seized vehicles will be gradually released and the other demands will be implemented in phases. Based on this assurance, we have decided to end the strike," he said

CNG-run auto-rickshaw owners and workers in Brahmanbaria have called off their indefinite strike following a meeting with police officials.
The decision to withdraw the strike was announced around midnight yesterday (29 July) by the Brahmanbaria District CNG Auto-Rickshaw Owners' Association.
As a result, CNG-run auto-rickshaws resumed operations across the district from this morning (30 July), restoring normalcy to public transportation.
Mizanur Rahman, president of the District CNG Auto-Rickshaw Owners' Association, said a meeting was held with police at Sadar Police Station around 10:30pm yesterday (29 July).
"The police assured us that the seized vehicles will be gradually released and the other demands will be implemented in phases. Based on this assurance, we have decided to end the strike," he said.
Earlier, the owners and drivers launched the indefinite strike on 27 July, demanding an end to police harassment and the fulfillment of two other related demands.
The suspension of CNG services caused severe inconvenience for commuters, while other transport operators took advantage of the situation by charging higher fares.
