RU emeritus professor ABM Hossain dies

Dr Abul Bashar Mosharraf Hossain, popularly known as ABM Hossain, an emeritus professor of Islamic History and Cultural Department in Rajshahi University, has passed away early Saturday at the age of 86.
He breathed his last at around 2am at Specialised Hospital, RU Proctor Professor Lutfar Rahman confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Professor ABM Hossain was the first professor emeritus of Rajshahi University.

He was born in 1934 in Dhamati village of Debidwar upazila of Cumilla district. In 1960, he started teaching at Rajshahi University. He became a professor in 1972.
