Research won't be useful if limited to books, publications: Rizwana

Research will not be useful to people if it is limited to books and publications, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan said today (26 February).
"When my university conducted research and found that there are microplastics in dried fish [loitta shutki], why didn't my university tell students to stop using plastics. Why are polythene shopping bags used here? Why won't we go for alternatives?," she said while speaking at the 'Chattogram Research and Innovation Fair' held at Chittagong University.
Rizwana also said, "There is a lot of honking on Chittagong University campus. We have done some work on it in Dhaka. I hope such can be done on this campus. Then gradually on the main roads of Chattogram."
The adviser emphasised that people should get used to the idea that honking horns is extremely harmful and illegal.
