"We look forward to welcoming both business and leisure travellers to Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan," said Neeraj Govil, senior vice president, South Asia, Marriott International.

"Renaissance Hotels seeks to inspire spontaneous explorers to discover something new and different every time they visit a city. Here in Dhaka, the fast-emerging cultural and business hub in Bangladesh, the new opening is set to engage guests on a journey to explore the city's authenticity and vivacity through the lens of a local," he added.

Employing the brand's theatrical design strategy, the 211-room Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan features interiors that capture a reinterpretation of Bangladesh culture and are an amalgamation of local culture and contemporary style.

The rooms are embellished with macramé textiles rendered through a local handicraft thread-work technique and plush lotus-patterned carpets. Further, adding a splash of richness and colour are the headboards for each room comprising of exquisite Jamdani work – a fine muslin textile that is intricately woven into patterns, using a mix of cotton and gold thread.

The local sense of place also comes through in the design of the lobby, restaurants and public spaces through a soft neutral palette and contrasting textiles.

Guests can indulge in an eclectic mix of five restaurants and bars, with a wide range of dining experiences and breath-taking skyline views.

The Gulshan Baking Company Offers freshly brewed rich coffees, a variety of delicate teas and healthy salads. Indulge in a wide selection of home-made gelatos, delectable desserts and freshly baked bread sandwiches full of goodness and flavour.
