Rains likely to drench country in next 24 hours: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers in all divisions, including Dhaka in 24 hours commencing at 9am today (17 April).
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisha,l Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a met office update.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.

The country's highest temperature, 36.5 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Sylhet over the past 24 hours till 6pm on Wednesday, while the lowest temperature, 19 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Rangpur till 6am on Thursday.
