The nighttime temperatures are expected to drop notably following the rain, says the met office

The rainfall began around 2:30pm, following a spell of gusty winds.
Residents welcomed the rain, with temperatures dipping slightly and offering much-needed comfort from the sweltering conditions.

Meanwhile, commuters, in particular the office goers and students, experienced traffic jams across the city due to the rain.
According to the Meteorological Department, nighttime temperatures are expected to drop notably following the rain.
They also predicted the potential formation of a low-pressure area over the southern Bay of Bengal.
In its 24-hour forecast from 9am today, the met office said scattered thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds, lightning, and rain are likely in parts of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
