Rail engine catches fire in Mymensingh; train movement disrupted

Train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route remained suspended for one and a half hours on Saturday after an engine of a train caught fire near Dhala Station in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district.
Akter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Mymensingh railway police station, said the engine of the Dewanganj-bound Dewanganj Commuter train went out of order after it caught fire it around 10:30 am, when it just crossed the Dhala station, forcing the authorities to stop train movement.
Panic gripped the passengers as smoke billowed out of the engine.
However, the rail authorities managed to extinguish the fire after pouring water.
