Former students of Jahangirnagar University organised a rally at Shahbagh area in the capital condemning the attack on the protestors at the university and demanding the immediate resignation of the vice chancellor.

Professor Anu Muhammad, Dr Tanzim Uddin Khan, political leader Zonayed Saki, journalist Faruque Wasif, and JU senate member Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan expressed solidarity with them.

Authorities closed down JU for indefinite period today in face of protest over few days.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting today after Chhatra League activists swopped on the protesters and dispersed them, leaving at least 20 injured.
