Prime accused among 2 more arrested over Jatrabari human haulier driver killing
With this, a total of three named accused have so far been arrested in the case filed over the killing of Md Nure Alam Islam, also known as Khairul, on 20 February.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today (23 February) arrested two more accused in connection with the killing of a human haulier driver in the capital's Jatrabari area.
The two newly arrested are the prime accused Md Hridoy Hossain, 24, and another accused Md Shakil, 29, said RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media) Tapas Karmakar.
With this, a total of three named accused have so far been arrested in the case filed over the killing of Md Nure Alam Islam, also known as Khairul, on 20 February.
According to the RAB official, Hridoy was arrested around 3:45pm from the Dayaganj intersection under Gandaria Police Station, while Shakil was arrested around 4:15pm from the Mir Hajirbag Pipe Road area under Jatrabari Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been handed over to the respective police stations, he added.
The RAB official said that two to three days before the incident, an argument broke out between Hridoy and Nure Alam over the vehicle's serial at the Jatrabari-Chittagong Road leguna stand, during which Hridoy allegedly threatened him.
Later, on 20 February, Nure Alam was driving his human haulier when Hridoy and his associates allegedly attacked him in a pre-planned assault in front of Sufia Garments on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Kutubkhali, Jatrabari, leaving him critically injured.
He was later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Following the incident, the victim's family filed a murder case with Jatrabari Police Station, the RAB official said.
On 21 February, RAB arrested another accused, Sohan Munshi, 29, who was named in the case.
He was apprehended during a special drive in the Kutubkhali fish market area under Jatrabari Police Station and later handed over to police.
