Rucsu polls: 2,000 police, 12 RAB platoons, 6 BGB platoons to ensure campus security

Multiple law enforcement agencies will be deployed on campus to ensure security during the upcoming Rajshahi University Central Students Union (Rucsu), senate representative, and hall union elections.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Abu Sufian announced today (13 October) that the security forces include 2,000 police, 12 platoons from the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and six from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
The deployment was confirmed following a meeting between the university administration and various law enforcement agencies regarding election security arrangements at the university administration building.
The police commissioner added that law enforcement personnel will be stationed on campus from 15 to 17 October, with the possibility of extending the deployment if necessary.

Abu Sufian also noted that there is no intelligence indicating any potential disturbances, and the situation on campus remains normal.
University Proctor Mahbubur Rahman said the administration maintains a strong relationship with local residents around the campus, reducing the likelihood of any untoward incidents.
Rucsu Chief Election Commissioner F Nazrul Islam said, "Multiple law enforcement agencies will work together to maintain a peaceful environment for three days, before and after the election."
