People eager to vote in February, says BNP's Moyeen Khan
Stating that the two main goals of the Liberation War were democracy and economic emancipation, he said the BNP is working to achieve these goals

The people of Bangladesh are eagerly waiting to cast their votes in the upcoming national election, said BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan today (25 August).
Speaking to reporters after paying tribute at the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the 33rd founding anniversary of the Jatiotabadi Muktijoddha Dal, Moyeen Khan said that there has been a great deal of public enthusiasm about voting since the Election Commission announced the potential date for the national election.
"A free and fair election is the only way for the people of Bangladesh to get back democracy," he said, adding that an election is the only way for the public to choose their 300 representatives.
He also criticised the now-banned Awami League, alleging that it failed to play a proper role during the 1971 Liberation War and that its leaders also "fled like cowards" across the border on 5 August 2024.
Stating that the two main goals of the Liberation War were democracy and economic emancipation, he said the BNP is working to achieve these goals.
He stressed that democracy must be restored through ballots, not through Sheikh Hasina's "bullets" as he expressed hope that young people born in 2009 will get the opportunity to exercise their right to vote for the first time in February.
