Khelafat Majlis calls for polls by 15 February
Khelafat Majlis also revealed that it will begin announcing candidates for all 300 parliamentary constituencies by August

Khelafat Majlis has demanded that the 13th National Parliament election be held by 15 February 2026, along with a series of reforms to ensure a free and fair election.
The party made the announcement at a press briefing today (26 July) at the Institution of Engineers seminar hall in the Capital.
In its statement, the party urged the authorities to declare the July certificate by 5 August and to ensure swift trials for what it termed as the killings, enforced disappearances, massacres, and other crimes committed by the "fascist government."
It called for basic reforms to be implemented as soon as possible and demanded that a specific date for the general election be announced, setting 15 February 2026 as the latest possible deadline.
The party warned against the return of "fallen autocratic forces" and called on all anti-fascist political parties to unite and act responsibly.
While acknowledging that political differences, criticism, and competition are natural in a democracy, the statement cautioned against division, hostility, and the use of indecent language, saying such practices destroy national unity.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the role of Islamic forces in national politics, pledging to work toward unity among Islamic parties and schools of thought.
Khelafat Majlis also revealed that it will begin announcing candidates for all 300 parliamentary constituencies by August. So far, candidates have been announced in 100 constituencies, the party said.
The event was presided over by party chief Maulana Abdul Basit Azad, while Secretary General Dr Ahmad Abdul Kader presented the written statement.
