Khaleda Zia heads to hospital for late-night medical checkup

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has gone to the Evercare Hospital in the capital for a routine medical check-up.
The former prime minister left her Gulshan residence "Firoza" around 11:40pm on Wednesday (15 October), confirmed BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, quoting her personal physician and Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
According to party sources, Khaleda Zia was taken to the hospital following the advice of her medical board for several urgent tests.
She is expected to return home later tonight after the examinations are completed.
The 79-year-old, who has been suffering from multiple chronic health complications for many years, has been receiving treatment under a specialised medical board at Evercare Hospital for the past few years.
During her stay in London, Khaleda received advanced medical care under the supervision of liver specialist Prof Patrick Kennedy.
