Incidents in hill tracts and garments sector not isolated, a group involved: Rizvi
“Each of us must stand shoulder to shoulder to thwart any anti-national activities or any kind of master plan,” he said.
Recent incidents of unrest in the hill tracts are worrying people and making them anxious, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said today (29 September).
"We are seeing signs of unrest in the garments sector as well. These are not separate incidents — there is a group involved behind each of these events," he told journalists at the BNP's central office in the capital's Nayapaltan.
Rizvi said, "Each of us must stand shoulder to shoulder to thwart any anti-national activities or any kind of master plan — any evil plan. We must foil it; we must bring it to naught."
The BNP leader also said, "Bangladesh has always wanted peace and seeks to work through coexistence. But we are a nation of 18 crore; if anyone tries to glare at us or has any ulterior motive regarding Bangladesh, will 18 crore people just sit idle? Certainly not."
He further said, "Talking at this moment about a possible attack or war by a neighbouring country raises the question of whether there is some major game plan. People are wondering about it. Therefore, we must think about everything, remain alert and conscious. No master plan or agenda will be allowed to be implemented in Bangladesh."
