False cases accusing Jatiyo Party men being filed under Operation Devil Hunt, GM Quader alleges

False cases are being filed against Jatiyo Party leaders and activists under the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt launched countrywide since Saturday (8 February), party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader has alleged.
Condemning the move in a statement today (10 February), he also noted that false cases were filed in absentia yesterday accusing some Jatiyo Party leaders and activists in Gazipur.
Quader called on the government to take measures for putting an end to the persecution and harassment of innocent people.
"Atrocities and persecution are being carried out against the Jatiyo Party," reads the statement, adding that numerous false cases have been filed against the partymen.
"They are being arrested and denied bail," the party chief alleged.
"Jatiyo Party offices, homes of leaders and activists, and business establishments are coming under attack," Quader said.
Regular political activities of the party, such as meetings, rallies, and processions, are met with obstruction, he also said.
